"Students Critically Injured in Illinois School Bus Accident"

All fifteen students aboard a school bus were injured today when the driver lost control and the bus crashed into an enbankment. Two students were airlifted to a hospital in Springfield, Illinois, while the others were driven to local hospitals, according to Greg Nimmo, the 911 director of Montgomery County, Illinois.

State police said that the Vandalia School District bus was traveling through an intersection of rural roads in Montgomery County at around 7:30 am when the accident occurred. No other vehicles were involved. The accident scene is located about 60 miles northeast of St. Louis.
